Many of the titles that you see below have been discussed in the TSUTAYA’s sales chart for the same week, so do have a look at it right here. Some titles that did not make it onto the Top 30 chart were also discussed in the COMIC ZIN’s chart here. Please note that while Oricon tracks sales from a huge number of stores in Japan, the sales data below are not at the fullest since some stores do not participate in Oricon’s daily surveys. Despite a drop in copies sold against most of its past volumes, the turnout remains large for 3-gatsu no Lion Volume 17 with 340,806 copies sold (including its Special Edition below) in its first six days and reaching 245,268,300 yen (≈1.67 million USD) in revenue. An excellent out come considering the fact that it has not seen any new volumes released for almost two years (the last one having released on September 29, 2021). There are no direct comparisons against its other volumes, however, against its most recent ones, Volume 13 and Volume 14, among others, registered higher copies sold with 479,349 copies and 404,252 copies respectively in their first three days whereas Volume 12 and Volume 15 were at 525,175 copies and 376,033 copies sold in their first four days, respectively. Volume 16 also did better at 353,456 copies in its first five days.

3-gatsu no Lion was adapted into a 22-episode TV Anime series by studio Shaft which aired from October 8, 2016 to March 18, 2017. The studio then returned to animate the sequel that aired from October 14, 2017 to March 31, 2018.

Copies sold has dwindled slightly for Kidou Senshi Gundam Thunderbolt Volume 22 against Volume 21, though the latest volume’s Special Edition is nowhere to be seen on either of Oricon’s Top 30 or Top 50 sales charts for the week. If it is counted by Oricon, the Special Edition volume would have most likely sold under 7,500 copies and may have seen Volume 22 at about 48,000 copies sold in total in its first five days.
Note that the Special Edition volume, priced at 2,540 yen (about 17 USD) comes with an original Anime drawing booklet.

In December 2015, it received its first Anime adaptation by Sunrise and a sequel followed suit in March of 2017.

There are no direct comparisons as to Given Volume 9. However, the 32,981 copies sold in its first three days are not as good as its past three volumes amid lower average sales per day. Note that the series sold 65,327 copies for its 7th volume in its first five days in December 2021.

Given Volume 9 also comes with other special sets such as the ComiComi Studio Limited Set which comes with a record coaster, priced at 1,848 yen (about 13 USD) and the Animate Limited Set that comes with an acrylic plate, priced at 2,728 yen (about 19 USD).

“Oshi no Ko” Volume 12 has reached 426,895 copies sold in its first 47 days.
The release of the single “Creak”, the official soundtrack of the live-action drama, Knockin’ on Locked Door, sung by the Japanese idol boy band SixTONES has jettisoned the series to the top of Oricon’s best series’ list for the week at 737.46 million yen (≈5.01 million USD) thanks to the strong performance of the single of which it sold a total of 475,397 copies in its first five days. The live-action drama series, starring Hokuto Matsumura and Daigo Nishihata, is in fact an adaptation of a novel of the same name by author Yugo Aosaki who previously worked on the Undead Girl Murder Farce series. Note that Music was the series largest contributor to its sales for the week whereas Books and Novels contributed to some amount of sales.
3-gatsu no Lion is the second bestseller here with 245.07 million yen (≈1.66 million USD) in sales as the series makes a big return with its Manga’s latest volume placing 1st and 2nd on the Manga chart (as shown above) for the week. Apart from sales of its Manga, which is the biggest contributor here, the series also derived some sales from its Video and Music segments.
Finally, Suki Suki Wan Wan is 3rd on the list with 221.04 million yen (≈1.50 million USD) worth of sales made. The live-action drama series saw the release of its box sets which has had a great start on Oricon’s general Blu-ray and DVD lists for the week. The Blu-ray box set sold 10,204 copies whereas the DVD box set sold 4,224 copies, putting the total at 14,428 copies sold within the first five days. For the series, its Video segment was the sole contributor to sales for the week.
