Japan Top Weekly Manga Ranking: September 20, 2021 ~ September 26, 2021

Not many new releases have made onto the Top 30 chart for the week between September 20 to September 26. Uchuu Kyoudai Volume 40 leads new releases at Number 2 for the week at 145,333 copies sold. Sales have improved slightly from Volume 39’s 142,463 copies by 1.97%, but do note that Volume 40 only has 5 days of sales compared to Volume 39’s 7 days of sales.

It is thanks to the wonderful people over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Manga) and here (Series). I have also covered some of the titles here quite extensively in my TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN’s post, so do check it out here!

At Number 5 is Blue Period Volume 11 at 71,693 copies sold. The series has been gaining traction as a result of its Anime adaptation and has been seeing an increase in the number of copies sold. Sales are up debut-to-debut from Volume 10’s 48,931 copies, however at the time when the volume was charted, it only had 3 days of sales. Volume 11 goes on sale a little longer, at 5 days of sales, averaging at 14,339 copies a day. While the average per day has dropped by a small amount, note that the longer the period of sales goes, the less sales a title would make in later days.

Giant Killing Volume 59 is the third and final new release on the week’s Top 30 chart, sitting in just below Blue Period Volume 11 at Number 6 with 70,566 copies sold. Sales have increased debut-to-debut from Volume 58’s 45,000 copies, but that is due to Volume 59 having 5 days of sales instead of Volume 58’s 3 days. Nevertheless, the number of copies sold is evidently an improvement from Volume 56, which at the time of its release had 64,074 copies sold in its first 5 days. Had Volume 59 have 1 more day of sale, it might even overtake Volume 55’s 76,145 copies sold. Still, this is far less than Volume 52’s 112,064 copies, and is 18.56% lower than Volume 53’s 86,650 copies (which too went for sale for 5 days).

As for others on the list, Tokyo Revengers Volume 24 two-week sales have hit 673,597 copies, Shuumatsu no Walküre Volume 12 climbs 50.10% to see its two-week sales at 201,706 copies, Golden Kamuy‘s Volume 27 faces a small drop of 7.02%, and as such has accumulated 179,058 copies sold in two weeks. A 30.11% reduction in sales week-on-week for Jojolion Volume 27 to 51,785 copies from prior week’s 74,095 copies to place it at Number 10 for the week. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
