Another record broken. The latest and final volume to the popular Kimetsu no Yaiba series debuted with a BANG indeed with almost 3 million copies sold. I initially estimated the number to be closer to 2 million copies or breaching the number, but not by that amount. The number of copies it sold is almost doubled than sales of Volume 22 in its first week. The title continued to crush the chart with the Gaiden volume at number 2, selling 858,751 copies, and at number 3 is Volume 23’s Special Edition. Note that, the Special Edition comes with a figurine of characters from the title. Each costs ¥5,720 (~$55) with tax or ¥5,200 (~$50) without tax. 575,737 copies of the edition was sold, bringing the total amount that Volume 23 has sold to 3,430,906 copies.

Other than that, rank 12 to 25 is almost dominated by Jujutsu Kaisen, the entire catalogue. With recent trends, and how the series have been on an upward path, this could be a good indicator of how 2021 may look like for sales of the Manga, considering the fact that the title is still on-going. There are three new releases besides Kimetsu no Yaiba‘s Volume 23 and Gaiden, coming in at number 6, 7 and 9 with Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan – Hokkaido-hen, Ao no Exorcist and Dragon Ball Super hanging on to those spots respectively.
Sales of Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken have dropped slightly, however it managed to maintain the numbers at above 150,000 copies sold while the previous week’s number 1, fell nine spots to settle for 10 as number of copies sold stumbled nearly 60% to 91,741 copies.
