Japan Top Weekly Manga Ranking: November 22, 2021 ~ November 28, 2021

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto leads the week with its 9th volume at 161,131 copies sold in its first 4 days. Although sales appear weaker than previous volumes, note that Volumes 6 to 8 all have longer days of sales than the 9th volume. To compare, look at Volume 5 which too had 4 days of sales when charted, however, its 4-day sales only amounted to 110,796 copies. Sales are in fact relatively stable for the series’ Manga adaptation of the Light Novel at around 40,000 copies sold on average per day.

Number 2’s Kingdom Volume 63 slipped 55.18% over the week ago to see its two-week sales at 504,460 copies, its weakest thus far as sales continue on a downward trend for the series. Volumes 58 to Volume 60, and Volume 62 all had 10 days of sales like the 63rd volume, but all sold markedly better than Volume 63. Let us observe further on how it will perform in Week 3.

It is thanks to the amazing people over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Manga) and here (Series). If you prefer Google charts I have left the links to their respective charts all the way down below.

Honey Lemon Soda’s 18th volume saw 85,143 copies sold in the span of 4 days. Sales have been rather stable for the series albeit failing to chart for Volumes 13 and 15 in their release weeks. It has consistently done so for its latest three volumes. Yes, Volume 18 appears to have lower copies sold compared to Volume 17, and that is due to the shorter 4-day sales it has. Average copies sold per day remain roughly the same at 20,000.

Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi Volume 8 places 4th for the week at 71,899 copies sold, a major improvement over its previous Volume 7. Volume 7 at the time when charted had 6 days of sales with copies sold at 68,473 copies. Note that sales made for Volume 8 is still far from the 77,598 copies it had for Volume 5, which it did in just 2 days. Nevertheless, this is welcoming news for the title, though we still need to see how it goes for future volumes as the title will have to either maintain sales as they are or head upwards. A seasonal outcome (where sales go into a cyclical trend) would be appreciated, but consistency is perhaps the best.

Sousou no Frieren Volume 6 two-week sales have now reached 264,784 copies in its first 11 days. Slightly lower than Volume 5, but that is due to its Special Edition not placing in the charts. We can assume that copies sold should have gone higher than Volume 5. However, note that Volume 5 had 266,080 copies sold in just 10 days. Hence, a slightly weaker performance by Volume 6.

Then Oshi no Ko Volume 6 at Number 6 is at 117,875 copies sold as of its 10th day. Both Volumes 4 and 5 maintain a small advantage over the 6th volume thanks to their longer days of sales of 12 days. Therefore, despite the seemingly poorer turnout, sales are actually rather stable for the series.

Not to miss out on the Top 10 is the 16th volume of Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu which saw 54,886 copies sold in its first week, less than expected considering Volume 15 had 48,588 copies in just 5 days. Kujonin Volume 4 is 9th at 52,312 copies sold in 3 days while Saki, a title you may be familiar with made 33,577 worth of copies sold in its first 4 days. The title received a 25-episode TV Animation series adapted by studios Gonzo and Picture Magic back in 2009. Five years later, it received a sequel titled “Saki Zenkoku-hen”.
