Japan Top Weekly Manga Ranking: March 29, 2021 ~ April 4, 2021

The Tensura Series registered excellent sales for the week between March 29 to April 4 with three of its titles making onto the chart for the week. The parent title’s latest volume recorded the highest debut sales amongst the latest six volumes, an increase of 40.48% debut-to-debut from Volume 16’s 191,803 copies. Tensura Nikki: Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken is placed at number 27 with 44,875 copies while another side story, Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken Ibun: Makokugurashi no Trinity is at 28 with 39,685 copies sold. Both recorded modest sales.

It is thanks to the amazing folks over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a regular basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them some love! Plus, all the data you find below can be accessed via Oricon right here (Manga) and here (Series).

However, many of the new releases you find in the Top 10 could not replicate the success of their previous volumes, despite seeing their Anime broadcasts ended a couple of weeks ago. Boku no Hero Academia, Dr. Stone, Dragon Ball Super, and Black Clover are all down debut-to-debut. While sales for Boku no Hero Academia and Dr. Stone are relatively stable to what their other volumes have been able to achieve, the same could not be said for the other two. Dragon Ball Super and Black Clover‘s latest volumes have the weakest debut sales amongst its latest volumes thus far, with the latter title falling below 70,000 copies.

It is still too early to say if the performance of these new releases have indeed worsen. The following week should provide a better insight on their actual performance since there have been instances where sales would go up on Week 2. So, do keep a lookout.

  1. Please provide the links for the graphs separately as I am unable to view them correctly.

    1. I’ve already included the links. I best have them on the posts from now on… I thought lowering the resolutions would work.

Could you let me know if it is working as it should? It is working on my side.

      1. The links work fine but the graphs in the post are still not complete for some reason even in landscape mode.

      2. Yes… I think it’s the theme. It won’t allow certain size to be displayed. But, I appreciate you letting me know this. Thanks! Will leave a link / links every time from now on.

    1. Yes, now that you mentioned it, explains the slightly slower sales.

I am glad to see Sousou no Frieren selling well! I am reading it and am having a good time. I especially like the part when Stark made his appearance, thank you for the recommendation! 😁

      1. Sousou no Frieren was a great find even for me lol
I think I will recommend some finished mangas in a little while

      2. Great! I am going to have a hard time keeping up, but I’ll do my best! 😎 By the way, where are you reading Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia?

  2. me estoy preocupando por dbs😔 aunque me sorprende que venda un poco más que bc ya que bc está en una revista más grande…

    1. Please don’t worry! Since DBS only had three days of sales. Hence, why sales are a little low. It should be able to recoup the following week 😊
