Jujutsu Kaisen remains 1st for the fifth week on Oricon sales chart although sales are down 36.37% week-on-week. It may even continue to be placed on the chart the week after if copies sold remain above 50,000 copies (which it likely would), or that there is a lack of notable new releases. The 77,793 copies sold now sees its lifetime sales (for the Regular Edition) at 1,622,001 copies sold!
At Number 2 is Kakkou no Iinazuke Volume 10 with its full week of sales bringing in 70,600 copies sold. This is however, much less than the 6-day sales it made for Volume 4, of which it had 74,312 copies sold between November 16 to November 22 in 2020. Copies sold were quite high prior to Volume 9 as 3-day sales for Volumes 5 to 8 all noted above 50,000 copies sold.
It is thanks to the amazing people over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! In addition, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Manga) and here (Series). If Google charts are what you prefer, you can find their respective links to the charts at the bottom of the post.
Right after is Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. Volume 24 at 60,611 copies at 6 days of sales, noting an improvement over Volume 23 which 7-day sales were at 56,579 copies. Note that performance of its 24th volume is also better than Volume 21 which within the same number of days of sales, could only produce 55,702 copies. Yet, it is unable to repeat the success of Volume 16, which 6-day sales were at 72,325 copies in February 2020.
Shangri-La Frontier: Kusoge Hunter, Kamige ni Idoman to su Volume 7 which comes next noted a weaker turnout compared to sales of Volume 6 which 5-day sales were at 47,364 copies. It would also seem that this is slightly less than the 51,503 copies sold that Volume 5 made in its first 6 days. Nevertheless, 55,970 copies sold is still a very commendable outcome.
As for others, you will find Nakaba Suzuki’s Mokushiroku no Yonkishi Volume 5 at 53,316 copies sold in its first 7 days, which can be a lower turnout than the release of Volume 4 that sold 45,627 copies in its first 5 days. Kanojo mo Kanojo Volume 9 placed 7th for the week at 40,413 copies in its full week of sales, a great outcome considering Volume 8 had 47,118 copies as of its 10th day. Seitokai Yakuindomo Volume 22 which has had a rough time for its past volumes sees its final volume at Number 8 with 33,623 copies sold in 7 days. Before we go ahead and talk about Number 9, let us look at Number 10’s Mao Volume 11, a series by Rumiko Takahashi with 6-day sales amounting to 29,962 copies sold.
Going back to Number 9, it is quite interesting to see Nichijou Lock Volume 2 on this list as its 3-day sales put out a strong performance at 30,720 copies sold. The series began serialization last year through Media Factory’s Comic Flapper magazine revolving around a group of friends being caught in jail after a heist. Though not everyone was thrown into a cell as one of the members managed to escape. You can check out the preview of the 1st volume right here via Book Walker available in Japanese.
