Japan Top Weekly Manga Ranking: February 7, 2022 ~ February 13, 2022

Boku no Hero Academia Volume 33 maintains its Number 1 position as of its 10th day with copies sold between February 7 and February 13 amounting to 233,769 copies, bringing its 10 days sales to 548,240 copies sold, its highest 10-day sales since Volume 24. Note that the Manga was charted with Volumes 24, 27, 28 and 30 at 10 days of sales, but all of them could not produce copies sold of above 500,000 copies. The 10-day sales performance of Volume 33 is also higher than the 14-day sales of Volumes 29 and 32, which could indicate that this could be its best performance to date.

As for other past titles, Number 5’s The Fable: The Second Contact Volume 2 and Number 9’s Owari no Seraph Volume 26 reported better copies sold from their 3-day debut sales. As such the 10-day sales for both have now hit 94,894 copies and 69,785 copies sold respectively.

It is thanks to the amazing folks over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! In addition, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Manga) and here (Series). If Google charts are what you prefer, you can find their respective links to the charts at the bottom of the post. Many of the titles that you see below have been discussed in the TSUTAYA’s sales chart for the same week, so do have a look at it right here. Some titles that did not make it onto the Top 30 chart were also discussed in the COMIC ZIN’s chart here.

Good news for Chihayafuru Volume 48 which comes in 2nd on the list with 77,117 copies sold in its first 4 days. Its performance is slightly better by 11.61% over Volume 47 which was charted with the same number of days back in August 2021. Still, its performance is far from what it had achieved before. 4-day sales for Volume 35 for instance were at 157,773 copies.

The rest on the chart is filled with new releases, mainly the isekai genre. Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko Volume 8 is 3rd with 70,020 copies its first week, 11.73% lower than Volume 7’s 79,328 copies back in June 2021. Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku Volume 13 is right after at 50,208 copies sold. It was last seen at 48,691 copies for Volume 12 in its first 3 days. Tensei shitara Dainana Ouji Datta node, Kimama ni Majutsu wo Kiwamemasu Volume 6 places 6 with 43,720 copies sold in its first 5 days whereas Isekai Kenja no Tensei Musou: Game no Chishiki de Isekai Saikyou Volume 5 is 7th at 41,105 copies in its first week. Yowamushi Pedal Volume 76 settles for 8th place with 37,509 copies sold in its first 6 days, not as good as Volume 75’s 39,180 copies in 5 days.

As for the lower 11 to 30, there are a couple of titles to take note of. First would be Number 15’s Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life: Dai-2 no Shokugyou wo Ete, Sekai Saikyou ni Narimashita Volume 15 at 25,779 copies sold in its first 2 days. Its performance does not seem to be as strong as Volumes 11 and 12 in their first 3 days. Had it maintained its average sales a day longer, sales would not have passed the 40,000 copies sold mark. Nevertheless, the title is set to receive an Anime adaptation this year on an unannounced date. According to its teaser trailer, the series’ printed circulation has now achieved 5 million copies. You can check out the video down below!

Then Number 16 sees Maiko-san Chi no Makanai-san Volume 9 at 24,494 copies in its first 4 days. Note that the title was adapted into a 12-episode Anime TV series which recently concluded on January 22. Head over to Number 20 is another title you may be familiar with, Nobunaga Concerto Volume 22 at 23,269 copies in 4 days. The series too received the Anime treatment, however slightly way back in 2014 by studio Fuji TV. Karakai Jouzu no (Moto) Takagi-san Volume 15 is 24th on the list and is the spin-off title of Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san. It sold 21,586 copies in 4 days. Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi Volume 10 is also on the list at 18,662 copies in 4 days, a title that received an Anime adaptation between Jan 2021 and March 2021. Finally, Kumichou Musume to Sewagakari Volume 7 is at 18,411 copies in 4 days, a series that is slated for an Anime adaptation this year on an unannounced date. The first promotional video can be found down below, so do check it out!
