Well for some reason I am not aware of, Oricon has decided to release the weekly charts a day earlier. Perhaps this is to allow its employees some time off since tomorrow would be the last day of 2021? Anyway, I will be sure to keep on a lookout in case this is a shift in their posting schedule.
It is not surprising to see Jujutsu Kaisen sitting atop of the chart. Copies sold are strong for its 18th volume at a total of 789,861 copies (together with the Special Edition). Note that the Special Edition is priced at 3,500 yen and comes with an acrylic calendar stand. Although copies sold may seem small compared to its previous volumes, remember that Volume 18 only has 2 days of sales on the chart. As such, this is quite a positive outcome after a drop in sales it experienced for Volume 17 which had 7 days of sales, yet only accumulated 1,096,464 copies sold. However, Volume 16 is still the leader in terms of performance for the series. It saw 1,165,681 copies sold in just 3 days which Volume 18 may most likely not have achieved if it went on sale a day longer.
It is thanks to the amazing people over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! In addition, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Manga) and here (Series). If Google charts are what you prefer, you can find their respective links to the charts at the bottom of the post.
At Number 3 is Shuumatsu no Walküre Volume 13 at 180,787 copies sold in its first week. A massive turnout was expected seeing it has 7 days of sales, and its sales trend has been on a rise from Volume 10 onwards. To compare, Volume 6 had 105,090 copies sold in its first week, marking a 41.87% improvement for Volume 13. The rest of the volumes were charted between 2 to 4 days of sales.
Skip ahead to Number 5 is Akatsuki no Yona Volume 37 at 91,586 copies sold. Its 7-day sales are much healthier compared to Volume 33 which had 78,573 copies sold within the same number of days. This does indicate a better outcome to Volume 35’s 64,505 copies sold within its first 6 days. Overall, sales are quite stable for the series. The Manga received an Anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot in 2015 which spanned 24 episodes, and the following year, it had three OVA episodes released.
And of course, we cannot miss Berserk’s final and latest volume at Number 6 with 86,875 copies sold. Jump all the way to Number 24 and you will find the Special Edition at 34,487 copies. In total that would put the 41st volume of the series at a solid 121,362 copies sold. However, this is its weakest performance thus far since Volume 33. Understandable since it was on hiatus due to the author’s poor health at the time. Volume 40 was released back in September 2018. Note that all of the volumes you see in the graph below have 3 days of sales with the exception of Volume 35 at 5 days.

The bottom 11 to 30 sees some fresh and new faces with the Manga adaptation of Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou Volume 9 placing 17th at 45,565 copies sold. The volumes certainly have some bad luck only having around 1 to 2 days of sales on the charts. Therefore, do not be so alarmed with its copies sold as it may have seen higher results if its volumes went on sale a couple of days longer. Speaking of the title, its second season is slated to begin airing in a few weeks (January 13, 2022), so be sure to keep an eye out for its first episode!
Then, head over to Number 18 is Majo Taisen: 32-nin no Isai no Majo wa Koroshiau Volume 3 at 45,540 copies sold in its first week. The Manga might be of interest to those of you who are a fan of Homura Kawamoto’s works (Kakegurui). The story is handled by Makoto Shiozuka who have had several serializations before this: Meminisse, Ningen Card, and Shinba Ra Da. Majo Taisen: 32-nin no Isai no Majo wa Koroshiau is serialized via Comic Zenon of which several of its chapters are available for free in Japanese right here.

A spin-off title of Shuumatsu no Walküre that centres around Lu Bu Fengxiang is 21st for the week at 40,926 copies sold. Then, at Number 26 you will find Nidome no Jinsei wo Isekai de Volume 10 at 33,552 copies. Finally, sitting at the edge of the list is the Manga adaptation of Goblin Slayer with its 12th volume at 26,747 copies sold. It was last featured back in October 2020 with sales of its 10th volume at 74,095 copies in its first week. The low turnout for Volume 12 is due to its shorter 2 days of sales.

As for estimated revenue, Jujutsu Kaisen leads the chart at 1,014.7 million yen (≈8.81 million USD) thanks to strong sales posted for its 18th volume. Plus, its other past volumes are rallying most likely thanks to its ongoing screening of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film. Tokyo Revengers noted a 33.87% improvement in sales from the week before to 650.5 million yen (≈5.65 million USD). Finally, Girls & Panzer is 3rd at 371.7 million yen (≈3.23 million USD) due to great sales of its film, Girls & Panzer: Saishuushou Part 3.
