Japan Top Weekly Manga Ranking: August 23, 2021 ~ August 29, 2021

Not much going on for the week between August 23 to August 29 as only two new releases make the chart with Coffee & Vanilla Volume 18 at Number 3 with 46,516 copies sold in its first week. Sales for the title’s 18th volume succumbs to a 15.05% drop debut-to-debut from Volume 17’s 54,756 copies, however it is not as bad Volume 15 and Volume 16’s performance back in their release weeks. Sales are unfortunately still far from the strong debut sales posted by Volume 13 and Volume 14, which saw the two at 66,083 copies and 65,581 copies sold respectively. It is highly doubtful that it can retain its position on the Top 30 chart the week after due to strong competition by other releases.

It is thanks to the wonderful people over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Manga) and here (Series).

Maintaining its first place, Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen Volume 23 continues to lead at 58,422 copies sold, though sales have considerably fallen by 61.91% week-on-week. This would put the volume’s two-week sales at a great 211,785 copies sold. Note that two-week sales were the highest for Volume 20 at 243,878 copies, followed by Volume 19’s 241,055 copies. Since the tittle tends to stay on the chart for at least three weeks, if all goes well, we may be able to have a better picture of its overall performance the following week. It is quite likely we will see sales at around 30,000 copies sold for Volume 23 on its third week.

As for the rest on the Top 10, two-week sales for Black Lagoon‘s Volume 12 are now at 173,896 copies sold, Oshi no Ko Volume 5 at 135,572 copies sold, Akatsuki no Yona Volume 36 at 114,746 copies sold. Boku no Hero Academia Volume 31 sees its four-week sales at a whopping 634,347 copies sold! The slow week has also allowed Tokyo Revengers to once again reign on the Top 30 chart with 21 of its volumes on the chart and a total of 727,118 copies sold (excluding the two that fail to be ranked). Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
