A massive debut-to-debut jump is recorded between Volume 30 and Volume 31 for Boku no Hero Academia as its latest volume leads the chart at 378,661 copies sold, a rise of 35.42%. This would be its second highest debut sales amongst its latest six volumes as Volume 29 still maintains its status quo of 429,673 copies sold in its opening week. Note that that despite the stronger sales possessed by its latest three volumes, sales do balance out on Week 2, however there is a slight indication to a growing demand. More should be observed on the series’ performance the following week.

It is thanks to the wonderful people over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Manga) and here (Series). I have also covered more about the titles you see down below on my TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN’s charts post right here, so do have a look at it!
At Number 2 is Dr. Stone Volume 22 which sees a jump of 21.08% over sales of Volume 21 in its first week. The latest volume manages a total of 135,352 copies sold, a much welcoming result. Dragon Ball Super Volume 16 which follows after has also witnessed a recovery in number of copies sold in its debut week, improving 31.09% over its last, but is still slightly less than Volume 11 and Volume 13 in their first weeks.

A quite surprising performance is certainly that of Grand Blue Volume 17 at Number 4. Initially, the stiff competition I presupposed would have chipped away some of its potential sales, yet the opposite has happened. Sales are up by 14.67% over sales of Volume 16 in its first week allowing it to sit comfortably at 92,431 copies sold for its 17th volume. Mashle Volume 7 (No. 5) and Bungou Stray Dogs Volume 21 (No. 6) have also experienced better debut-to-debut sales over their last. Though, do not be fooled by Mashle‘s low sales for its 6th volume. Sales recovered on Week 2 to see 47,054 copies sold.

At Number 8 is Yuukoku no Moriarty Volume 15 at 61,893 copies sold, higher than sales of both its 13th and 14th volumes on their first weeks. Finally, Dandadan debuts its 1st volume at 57,761 copies sold! Not too shabby for a newcomer. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:

Over here, there are a bunch of popular new releases including: Mairimashita! Iruma-kun Volume 23 and Makai no Shuyaku wa Wareware da! Volume 6 at Number 17 and 19 respectively. It would seem that competition in the above list has impacted their sales for the week. Sales are down for both titles in their debut weeks, nevertheless they may climb on Week 2, so do keep a lookout.

Like the two aforementioned above, Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! Volume 7 has also suffered from fewer copies sold on its first week. Sales are down 32.08% from Volume 6 to see its second weakest debut amongst its latest six volumes.
