This is not the first time Kimetsu no Yaiba has occupied the chart from top to bottom. It did the same thing back in January as it built up towards the release of volume 19. Cumulatively, the entire 19 volumes have sold 1,963,933 copies for the period between April 27 to May 3. Looks like the trend is similar this time around probably due to the release of volume 20 happening on the 13th of May. The debut of volume 19 saw Kimetsu no Yaiba selling around 1.3 million copies according to Oricon. Makes you wonder how many copies will volume 20 sell. Any takers?

The week however, saw a new addition to the chart at number 20 with Ao Ashi’s volume 20 selling 75,551 copies. Most of the heavyweights present in the previous week’s top 10 have fallen considerably, 5-toubun no Hanayome Vol. 14 plunging the hardest. It sat at number 2 the week before only to find itself at 30 for the week. Shuumatsu no Walküre and Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai share the same fate, but Akatsuki no Yona is nowhere to be seen. Other than that, Kimetsu no Yaiba did quite well in terms of total sales. According to Oricon here it sits at number 2 with an estimated 962.2 million yen (tax included) worth of sales generated as of the second week of May.
