A breath of fresh air indeed! After the two-week slump Anime Blu-ray had the first half of the month, May 17 to May 23 saw better sales week-on-week with the release of new volumes. The week’s chart is topped by the 5th volume of Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle – Rhyme Anima which has continued to do well on the charts. Sales have maintained above 6,000 copies sold for the series with Volume 1 still remains its best opener, 6,760 copies sold in its first week. Volume 4 slid to 6,186 copies sold from Volume 3’s 6,628 copies, though sales have improved debut-to-debut for Volume 5 after it reported 6,328 copies sold for the week.

Walt Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon had a decent performance in Japan with 5,351 copies in its first week while the 3rd volume of 5-toubun no Hanayome ∬ that trails after it sold 3,964 copies for both Blu-ray and DVD editions. The sales of its Blu-ray is a tiny bit better than Volume 2 which had 3,312 copies sold back April. A3! Volume 8, Show by Rock!! Stars!! Volume 2 and Osomatsu-san 3rd Season Volume 6 all reported above 1,000 copies sold.
The week between May 24 to May 30 will be more exciting as an array of new releases from popular titles will be coming out such as: Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 5, Natsume Yuujinchou: Ishi Okoshi to Ayashiki Raihousha, SK∞, Horimiya and so many more.
