Released in August 2019, the latest sequel and movie to Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! claimed the week between March 23 and March 29’s top spot as it saw 17,427 copies of its disc flying off the shelves according to Oricon latest Blu-ray chart here. The DVD however, debuted in a much less fashion as it saw only 1,955 copies sold. Cumulatively, the film sold almost 20,000 copies in Japan for the week. The DVD chart is accessible here. Unfortunately, Love Live! Sunshine!! Fan Disc could not retain its splendid run the week before as sales dropped 87% from 22,449 copies sold to 2,900 copies for the week. Nevertheless, the list has seen a lot of new titles making their appearance including Sword Art Online: Alicization trailing closely behind KonoSuba while Kimetsu no Yaiba settling for 3rd.
Despite the strong week Anime Blu-ray had seen the week before, sales are slightly sluggish the week between March 23 – March 29, but its presence in the top 20 Blu-ray sold in Japan is encouraging. There are no notable releases coming out except for Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet which was released on the 31st. I don’t think we will see much excitement during the release window of March 30 – April 5 as the number of titles expected to be released are rather small with almost no heavy weights making their debuts.
