A crowded week indeed, but One Piece is really making a killing the week between March 16 and March 22 according to Oricon’s latest weekly Blu-ray and DVD charts. As usual, it is thanks to them that we are able to see these rankings on a weekly basis, so why not go over and say hello to the awesome people at Oricon here?!
Although Love Live! Sunshine!! Fan Disc’s managed to top the week’s weekly chart for the week, it was unable to topple the accumulated sales that One Piece latest film was able to make. The total sales generated by One Piece for the week – for all of its editions – stands at 33,128 copies. One Piece’s Stampede would have topped the chart had it been the total of all editions sold, however in terms of individual editions sold, it lacks behind Love Live! Sunshine!! (No. 1) and Violet Evergarden Gaiden (No. 2).
Apart from that, One Piece’s Stampede did quite well also in the DVD department. It sold cumulatively 27,000 copies (yes, according to Oricon, exactly that figure) bringing the total copies sold by the film to 60,128 copies for the week.
Other new releases making into the top 10 Blu-ray chart include Azur Lane (No. 6), Haikyuu!!: To the Top (No. 7), Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu (No. 8) and Hello!! Kiniro Mosaic (No. 10). Toy Story which was at number 3 the previous week plunged 6 spots to number 9. Overall, the week’s sales has improved compared to before and since it will be a busy week again especially on the 25th of March, we may see Anime Blu-rays selling well in the following week’s chart too.
