The week between June 21 to June 27 welcomes the 2nd volume of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (TV) Season 2 with gigantic open arms, at 150,390 copies sold! Note that Volume 1 which debuted back in May was very impressive as well selling 112,030 copies in its first week, however this climb is certainly something as it marks a 25.51% improvement over the last volume. That said, sales of its 1st volume is not letting up as well. It rallied along with the arrival of its 2nd volume climbing 1.96% week-on-week (something you rarely see) to settle for 4,838 copies sold for the week. That should put its total five-week sales so far at 184,803 copies sold!

The third week of every month has always been quite tight with big names, among them is Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai which Volume 7 places 3rd for the week with 16,768 copies sold. Sales remain to be strong, however Volume 7 now has the weakest debut sales among all of its seven volumes thus far, most likely due to the short sales window it had which was around three days. As such, it should see a more leveled two-week sales the week after.

Like Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai, Jujutsu Kaisen‘s 6th volume too has now the lowest debut sales among its six volumes, selling at 20,436 copies for both Blu-ray and DVD. Unlike the first which had only three days of sales, Jujutsu Kaisen had a longer period of sales. Though, it should be noted that sales remain above 20,000 copies sold since the release of its 1st volume, which is still very impressive. The title has two more volumes to be released, one in the month of July and the final volume in the month of August.

It seems to be that many of the titles we are familiar with are losing momentum. If you head over to number 9, you will find SK∞‘s Volume 4. It too has reported the fewest copies sold so far among its four volumes as total debut sales for its Blu-ray and DVD dips to 6,288 copies from Volume 3’s 6,739 copies. Sales remain above 6,000 copies sold with Volume 2 being its best so far, nearing almost 7,000 copies sold in its first week.

Other new releases include the first volume of Zombieland Saga: Revenge, debuting at a healthy 6,925 copies sold. Mo Dao Zu Shi seems to be quite popular in Japan, its sequel Xian Yun Pian is listed at 7th spot as it secures 5,609 copies sold for the week. At number 11 and 12 are Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Blu-ray Chapter 2 and Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama: Hyoutei vs. Rikkai which sold 4,053 copies and 2,493 copies respectively. Mushoku Tensei witnesses fewer copies sold debut-to-debut from Chapter 1’s 4,385 copies back in April.
As for Kimetsu no Yaiba, sales for its Mugen Ressha-hen has plunged considerably for the week, yet its two-week sales for both Blu-ray and DVD have reached 1,435,549 copies sold! Fate/Grand Carnival 1st Season has also climbed after failing to rank the week before as it ended the week with 4,651 copies sold.
