Quite the recovery it is! For the week between July 13 to July 19, we could see better representations of Anime Blu-rays and DVDs in the Top 20 charts. The number of titles were much lesser the week before, but for the week mentioned, the numbers have significantly improved. The chart is available here for Blu-ray and here for DVD.
The week’s sales have also shown a markedly increase, mostly carried by My Hero Academia’s second theatrical release, Heroes Rising. It tops the chart with a very positive debut. Both the Blu-ray’s Special Edition and Regular Edition sold 16,871 copies while its DVDs sold 10,394 copies. Bringing a total of 27,265 copies sold for the week. Psycho-Pass 3’s film, First Inspector however did not fare as well. Although it trails My Hero Academia at number 2, sales are far apart from each other. Frozen II is still maintaining a presence as it experience a minute climb in sales.

Looks like we will be seeing re-releases of Ghibli films with some added content in the packaging. Also, the third volume Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta… is releasing on the 22nd of July, we can expect it to be in the chart that week.
