Sales have finally calmed down after several weeks of excellent performance where Anime Blu-rays occupied more than ten places on Oricon’s Top 20 Blu-ray charts, however the week between July 12 to July 18 only saw nine of the titles below listed. Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen is still hanging on to the charts seeing both Blu-ray and DVD sales for the week amounting to 20,812 copies. Its five-week sales have now reached 1,551,156 copies sold. Note that sales of its Blu-ray discs account to slightly more than 50% of its total sales so far while DVD sales are at 49.1%.

Luo Xiao Hei Zhan Ji: Boku ga Erabu Mirai which placed 1st the week before fell almost 90% for its Limited Edition to 2nd place with 2,845 copies sold. Its Regular Edition is nowhere to be seen on the Top 10 list. Likewise, sales of the DVD’s Limited Edition has also decreased to 681 copies putting the total Blu-ray Limited Edition at 35,782 copies sold so far including sales of previous week.
Blu-ray sales for Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (TV) Season 2 is still pushing on as it sees both Volume 1 and Volume 2 accumulating 3,363 worth of copies sold for the week. Total sales for the series have now hit 354,712 copies sold in Japan. Volume 3 has already been released at the time of writing which it would definitely make the chart the following week. Therefore, total series sales is much likely to breach 400,000 copies hitting closer to 500,000 copies sold then.

The week chart also witnesses a number of new releases including the re-release of several old titles at a low price. These titles include Summer Wars (No. 5) and Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (No. 10). They are really good movies, and I highly recommend you to pick them up. The two titles are also selling for cheap via RightStuf right now. Another new release belongs to Pokemon Movie 23: Coco which places 3rd and 9th for the week. Total Blu-ray sales for the title is not as impressive as compared to its DVD counterpart which sees number of copies sold at 3,714. Note that there is only one version released for its DVD. However, the slightly more expensive Blu-rays should give it a better advantage in terms of revenue. In total, both Blu-ray and DVD have sold 7,007 copies.
