The weekly ranking for Anime Blu-ray and DVDs are finally out and accessible through Oricon here (Blu-ray) and here (DVD). It is thanks to Oricon that we are able to see these weekly charts for free, so please do pay them a visit!
Studio Trigger’s theatrical release, Promare debuted with a very healthy sale. It’s Limited Edition sits at the top of the chart with 36,734 followed by an additional 2,023 copies sold for its Regular Edition. In total, along with sales of its DVDs – note that I was unable to obtain the DVD’s Regular Edition number of sales, the movie has sold slightly more than 48,000 copies.
The top 10 Blu-ray list also saw a few new additions including Symphogear XV trailing closely behind Promare at number 2 while Lord El-Melloi settled for number 3. Toy Story climbed back 5 spots from 10 the week before to claim the number 5 spot. Unfortunately, a number of series such as Ensemble Stars!, GUNDAM Reconguista in G1, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? and The Prince of Tennis Best Games!! Fuji vs Kirihara could not retain their positions in the top 10 spots for the week.
