The outcome of this week’s chart is a lot better than the previous week as more Anime made into Oricon’s Top 20 Blu-ray chart. Pixar’s Onward leads the pack with nearly 10,000 copies sold in Japan, but failed to make an impact in the DVD chart. Following closely is the the sequel to Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. At number 2, the series’ Raihousha-hen sold a total of 5,599 copies while its DVDs accumulated 929 copies worth of sales, which should put the number at 6,528 copies sold in its first week. At number 3 is Yuru Camp△ Blu-ray BOX with modest sales. Another decent performance can be seen with Doraemon‘s latest film raking 5,441 copies sold for both Premium Edition and Regular Edition of its Blu-rays. It did better in its DVD department with 7,476 copies sold, bringing the figure to 12,917 copies.

Note that the week between December 21 to December 27 presents a wide range of releases most likely to take advantage of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Some of the titles releasing for the week are: Dokyuu Hentai HxEros, Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka III, Strike the Blood IV, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T and many more.
