A very slow week with only four new releases making onto the Top 10 chart. The situation will most likely persist as we head into the second week of September, that is between the 6th and the 12th. The third week should see some modest recovery as several notable new releases are to make their way including: SSSS.Dynazenon and Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon S.
Leading the new releases for the week is Walt Disney’s latest animated film, Luca bringing in 3,274 copies sold nationwide Japan. Following closely behind is Tokyo Revengers Volume 4, which has been noticing better debut-to-debut sales performance. Volume 1 started out weak with both copies sold for its Blu-ray and DVD managed only 2,942 copies in its opening week. That improved 18.64% to 3,616 copies for Volume 2. Then, it went up by 15.75% for Volume 3. Volume 4 records marginally 4.90% higher debut-to-debut settling in at 2,314 copies sold for Blu-rays and 2,199 copies for DVDs. Cumulatively, that is 4,513 copies sold!

A spot below is Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta… X Volume 1 at a decent 2,013 copies sold. Note that this is however considerably lower than sales it made with Season 1 releases which reported consistently above 4,000 copies sold each. Volume 2 of the first season saw copies sold nearing 5,000 copies in its first week while Volume 1 had 4,698 copies.

The final new release comes in at Number 10 with Uramichi Oniisan‘s 1st volume. The cutoff on the Blu-ray Top 20 list is 978 copies, therefore it has sold below that amount. As for others on the list, past titles such as Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (TV) Season 2 and Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen are still going strong with the first having all of its volumes on the Top 10 chart. Evangelion: 3.333 You Can (Not) Redo dropped all the way to the 8th spot from previous week’s Number 1. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
