Now, before we discuss the new releases for the week, let us look at the two-week performance of Overlord with its Regular Edition retaining the Number 1 spot despite a heavy drop of 68.90% week-on-week. Its Limited Edition, however, has been completely jettisoned out of the charts. This would put its Regular Edition copies’ 11-day sales at 95,966 copies, and if we add the copies sold for its Limited Edition from the week before, the number will go up to 130,897 copies sold, far from the 172,309 copies sold it had for Volume 14 (which is in a similar situation, its Limited Edition copies did make it onto Week 2) by 24.03%. Its performance is also less than Volume 13’s 170,846 copies sold and is a lot closer to the performance of Volume 11, both in their first 10 days.
At Number 4 and 5 are the latest additions to the Shunkashuutou Daikousha series titled “Natsu no Mai” with both first and second parts of the volumes seeing a rather decent turnout in their first 3 days at 6,388 copies and 6,072 copies sold respectively. Note that prior to these volumes, the series was last seen with Shunkashuutou Daikousha Haru no Mai’s upper volume that charted at 4,852 copies sold in its first 3 days, which it then went on to sell another 4,852 copies on Week 2. The lower volume unfortunately missed on a placement on the charts the year before, though it should have seen a similar turnout. Shunkashuutou Daikousha: Natsu no Mai is the direct sequel to the April 2021 Light Novel series published by KADOKAWA, Shunkashuutou Daikousha: Haru no Mai with more information about the work can be accessed via its official website right here. The title also won the New Title category for the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! ranking’s 2022 edition (Source: ANN), and a celebratory video was published through Dengeki Bunko channel to commemorate its win. You can watch the video below. If you inspect the cover of its Second Part volume, the series is said to have passed 250,000 copies including digital. Note that it has only four volumes released so far in its entire catalogue.
And then we have Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne! with its 17th volume sitting comfortably at Number 8 at 4,484 copies sold in its first 4 days. Note that this is not its first appearance on the chart as it has breached the Top 10 consistently for its past three volumes. Its sales performance has bounced back to see better performance than Volumes 15 and 16 which are in their first 7 and 6 days (in the graph below) but is still 28.48% less than Volume 14 that has the same number of days of sales when it debuted at 6,270 copies sold back in January 2021. The Light Novel began its publication journey in May of 2016, and it was adapted into Manga that same year in August. You can check out some of its chapters right here for free in Japanese. In 2019, it finally received an Anime adaptation which lasted for 12 episodes, airing between October and December of 2019.

It is thanks to the amazing folks over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! In addition, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Light Novel), here (Bunko) and here (Bungei-sho).
Head over to Number 10 and you will find Saikyou no Kanteishi tte Dare no Koto? Volume 16 at 3,830 copies sold in its first 3 days. Although copies sold seem to be less than each volume going forward, that is actually not the case at all since each volume you see in the graph below has 1 day of sales less than each of the subsequent volumes. For instance, Volume 14 you see below has 5 days of sales whereas Volumes 15 and 16 are at 4 and 3 days each. As such, its sales performance is quite stable. The work was first published in July of 2017 and a Manga adaptation was made available the following year in the month of January. If you are interested to see how the Manga is like, you can read two of its chapters that have been made freely available right here. The work also received a short promotional video in March 2019 to promote the title. You can watch it down below.
Skip over to Number 13 and Seijo ja Nakatta node, Oukyuu de Nonbiri Gohan wo Tsukuru Koto ni Shimashita makes its entrance at 3,679 copies sold in its first 3 days, not the series’ first appearance on the charts. It was last seen with its 6th volume back between January 3 and January 9 this year at 2,872 copies sold in just 2 days. Manga adaptation is available for the series that is currently serializing through Flos Comic of which some of its chapters can be read for free right here in Japanese. And then, at Number 15 we have Hataraku Maou-sama! Okawari!! at 3,446 copies sold in its first 3 days, definitely a title to keep a lookout for considering its latest Anime season which is being aired as of the time of writing.

Finally, Guild no Uketsukejou desu ga, Zangyou wa Iya nanode Boss wo Solo Toubatsu Shiyou to Omoimasu makes its 5th volume debut with 3,319 copies sold in its first 3 days, however, this is a drop of 22.45% from the 4,280 copies sold it had for Volume 2 in its first 3 days. The Light Novel was published by KADOKAWA in March of 2021 with more information about the work can be accessed via its official webpage right here. In June the same year its Light Novel came out, it was adapted into Manga by artist Suzu Yuuki which is serializing in Dengeki Daioh. You can check out some of its chapters that are available for free right here in Japanese. Also, a reading of its Manga’s 4th chapter was released by Dengeki Bunko through its Youtube channel of which you can watch below.
