Japan Top 15 Weekly Light Novel Sales Ranking: August 15 – August 21, 2022

New releases are very few this time around on Oricon’s Light Novel sales chart, counting only three of them on the Top 15 with Tensei shita Daiseijo wa, Seijo de Aru Koto wo Hitakakusu Volume 7 leading at Number 3 at 12,639 copies sold in its first 4 days. The series has made a number of appearances prior to this, having featured for Volumes 3 and 4 in 2020, then Volume 6 in December last year. Volume 5 failed to chart in its first 2 days in May 2021 but was seen the week after at 8,599 copies sold. The latest performance is a positive improvement for the Light Novel with a noticeable increase in physical sales over the 5-day sales of Volumes 4 and 6, and a rather large advantage over Volume 3’s 6,074 copies sold in its first 3 days. Tensei shita Daiseijo wa, Seijo de Aru Koto wo Hitakakusu began its Light Novel journey when it was first published in June 2019 and was blessed with a Manga adaptation the same year in December. With more than 1 million copies in circulation, more information about the work can be obtained on its special web page here whereas some of its Manga chapters can be read for free through Comic Earth☆Star (where it is being serialized) right here in Japanese. The Light Novel is also available officially in English, published by Airship.

Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka is 9^th on the list with its 7^th volume selling 6,097 copies in its first 3 days, 21.90% lower than Volume 6’s 7,807 copies back in August 2021. Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka was first published in June 2019 and was adapted into a Manga series in April of 2020 by artist Bobcat that is serialized in Manga UP! For more information about the work, you can check out its special web page right here and read its first Manga chapter for free here in Japanese. Its 2^nd official English compiled volume was released on March 15 this year by Yen Press. The Light Novel won first place at the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2021 and 2022 series for the Bunkabon (small-format paperback books) category.

Finally, we have Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta Volume 11 at 4,716 copies sold in its first 2 days, 7.46% fewer copies sold than Volume 10’s 5,096 copies. Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta was first published in December 2018 under the Fantasia Bunko label by KADOKAWA and a Manga adaptation was greenlit a year after and is still being serialized in Web DenPlay Comic. The series has more than 1.5 million copies in circulation worldwide, and if you are keen on learning more about the work, feel free to visit its special web page here. Around a week ago, the series was announced to be receiving an Anime adaptation, though the date of its broadcast is not yet known.
