Japan Top 17 Weekly Light Novel Ranking: March 21, 2022 to March 27, 2022

Taking the top spot for the week would be En Mikami’s Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou III: Tobira-ko to Utsurona Yume at 23,461 copies sold in the first 3 days, a series you would want to keep a close watch on as in well… 2017, the series was announced to receive an Anime film adaptation which it has so far received no update. Nevertheless, the title has spawned a number of spin-off titles including two Manga adaptations, one ended its serialization in February 2017. The other is still ongoing and is currently serialized in Kodansha’s good! Afternoon magazine with some of its chapters available here in Japanese. Furthermore, the title is said to have reached 7,000,000 copies in printed circulation. Now, regarding Number 2’s Junkyouju Takatsuki Akira no Suisatsu, it took me awhile to decide whether to consider it as Light Novel since CDJapan only listed it as one while TSUTAYA and HONTO do not. But, after some deliberation, and by looking at other databases, I have decided to consider it seeing it has a Manga adaptation of the same name, of which some of its chapters are available through Pixiv Comic right here in Japanese. In 2021, the title was adapted into a live-action drama starring Kei Inoo and Jinguji Yuta. The 7^th volume sells 16,831 copies in the first 6 days.

Next on the list would be Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu’s 29^th volume at 12,555 copies sold in the first 3 days. Not its best 3-day performance since the release of Volume 22. Note that the 3-day sales peaked for Volume 25 where it saw 19,705 copies sold back in December 2020. Despite the weak turnout, there is still a possibility that it would rise the following week. Volume 28 witnessed 24,422 copies sold, its weakest 10-day sales since Volume 22, as such Volume 29 will have to sell more than that to avoid a “decline” trap.

Isekai Yururi Kikou Volume 12 is 4^th on the list at 10,851 copies sold in its first 4 days, though its prior volume sold slightly better at 10,412 copies in 3 days. According to its volume’s cover, its printed circulation has now passed 740,000 copies, 100,000 more than when Volume 11 was released in September 2021. The series was also adapted into Manga by artist Tomomi Mizuna who previously worked on Itazura Majoko no Daibouken. Skip all the way to Number 8 and you will find Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku Volume 9 at 6,721 copies sold. Note that its Manga adaptation also appeared in its own respective chart for the same week, sitting in at Number 28 at 22,592 copies sold in the first 3 days. Likewise, if you head over to Number 13, Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu Volume 10 would be in the same boat. The volume sells 5,055 copies for its Light Novel, and in the same week, its Manga is 21^st on its own list at 28,219 copies sold in the first 3 days. Finally, Tensei Mae no Tutorial de Isekai Saikyou ni narimashita. is a new title by AlphaPolis by author Satoru Ogawa at 3,646 copies in the first 4 days.
