Light Novel Weekly Top 14
1. Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: 2-nensei-hen Vol. 10 (NEW)
by (Author) Shougo Kinugasa and (Illustration) Shunsaku Tomose
Volume Information
Release Date: October 25, 2023
Days of Sales: 5
Price: 680 yen
Publisher: KADOKAWA
Estimated number of copies sold: 47,004
Link (JPN): Vol. 10

Analysis
Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: 2-nensei-hen Volume 10 has sold a great 47,004 copies sold in its first five days, a fantastic amount for Light Novel physical sales as of the recent years, but this is still less than what many of the series’ past volumes could churn out. For example, Volume 2 and Volume 4 were seen with 61,872 copies and 61,817 copies sold in their first four days whilst Volume 3 sold 41,997 copies in just two days. The series did see a decent jump in sales after the Anime’s second season aired in July 2022 (see Volume 8), and this loss in momentum could be attributable to the gap between Season 2’s end of broadcast and the release of Volume 10. Season 3 of the Anime will begin to air in January 2024, therefore, we may see a nudge in sales then or perhaps even earlier when the preview episode is released on November 19, 2023, that is depending on when Volume 11 is released.
Additional Comments
The prequel, Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e was adapted into a 12-episode TV Anime series in July 2017 by studio Lerche who returned to animate the sequel that aired in July 2022. Season 3, by the same studio, is expected to air in January 2024 with a preview episode expected for release on November 19, 2023.
The series also has a Manga adaptation that is ongoing by artist Shia Sasane for 2-nensei-hen that is serialized in KADOKAWA’s Comic Alive magazine. You can check out the 1st volume preview in Japanese right here.

The 9,861 copies sold for Volume 10 has suffered from a 6.85% and 32.72% drop against its compatriots: Volume 4 and Volume 8, marking the series’ weakest debut performance to date since the Anime aired. Season 2 may reinvigorate sales for its future volumes, however, no actual date of broadcasts is yet to be announced as of the time of writing.

Analysis
There are no direct comparisons as to Shotgun Nauru‘s 6,636 copies sold in its first five days, nevertheless, the latest result is a welcoming one having improved against the 6,519 copies sold from its previous TAMAYA volume.
