Light Novel sales chart for the week between June 6 and June 12 witnesses a number of familiar faces occupying the first three spots with the appendix volumes of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei and Strike the Blood taking the 1st and 3rd places. Both KADOKAWA titles managed an impressive turnout of 14,899 copies and 6,900 copies sold respectively in their first 3 days. Likewise, squeezed in between the two titles is another KADOKAWA release, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun at 9,591 copies sold, also in its first 3 days, authored by Kazuma Kamachi. The volume is illustrated by a slew of artists with Kiyotaka Haimura and Motoi Fuyukawa being some of the few. Note that all of these titles have Anime adaptations, and may be a worthwhile read, particularly Strike the Blood seeing its main storyline has ended, and its Anime’s fifth season which is covering the final arc is bound to end soon in July.
Head over to Number 4 is Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” 7-haime at 6,072 copies sold in its first 6 days, not as good as its previous appearance which saw 5,463 copies sold in its first 4 days back in July 2021. Around a year after its Light Novel publication, the series received two Manga adaptations. The earlier adaptation is being serialized in the Young Ace magazine and bears the same name as the Light Novel, while the other is serialized in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Web magazine, however, is named Isekai Izakaya “Nobu”: Shinobu to Taishou Koto Gohan. Both of the adaptations can be read for free in Japanese right here and here for some of their chapters. In 2018, it received a 24-episode ONA Anime adaptation produced by Sunrise which ran from April to September.

One of the titles to look out for on the chart would be Nisio Isin’s latest Okitegami Kyouko title from the Boukyaku Tantei series. Note that the work has appeared before on the Light Novel sales chart with the volume titled Okitegami Kyouko no Kansatsu Hyou which was released back in April 2021. At the time, the volume sold 7,377 copies in its first 4 days. Its latest addition, Okitegami Kyouko no Ninbouchou which places 6th on the week’s list is 5,743 copies sold in its first 5 days, weaker than its previous volume. However, I do suspect a potential rise the week after. The title was also turned into a live-action drama in 2015 which starred Yui Aragaki and Masaki Okada.

Then, at Number 7, we have Fuyumi Ono’s Eizen Karukaya Kaiitan Volume 2 at 5,542 copies sold in its first 3 days. A Manga adaptation is available for the series, but it was short-lived, only lasting a single volume. More information about it can be obtained on its official page right here. Starts Publishing sees two of its releases on the week’s chart with Rikon Zenya, Reirina Onzoushi wa Keiyakuzuma wo Gekiai de Tsuranuku and Mi wo Hiku Hazu ga, Binwan Doctor wa Mama to Futago ni Afureru Ai wo Sosogikomu side by side at Number 10 and 11. The two titles sold 3,575 copies and 3,496 copies respectively in their first 3 days.
At Number 13 is Tensei shitara Koutei deshita: Umarenagara no Koutei wa Konosaki Ikinokoreru ka? Volume 2 at 3,031 copies sold in its first 3 days, also its first appearance on the chart since the Blog started tracking. Note that the series does have a Manga adaptation that is ongoing by artist Wirue Kusinada, serializing in the Corona EX magazine. You can give some of its chapters a try here for free in Japanese. Finally, Tensei Shitara Saikyoushutachi ga Sumau Shima Deshita.: Kono Shima de Slow Life wo Tanoshimimasu is probably an unfamiliar face for some of you since this would its first time on the chart since the Blog started tracking. It makes its 2nd volume debut at 2,994 copies sold in its first 6 days. You can actually check out more about the series here through its official page and read the preview of its Light Novel’s 1st volume right here in Japanese.
