Japan Top 13 Weekly Light Novel Ranking: February 28, 2022 to March 6, 2022

The chart for the week starts of with a 41.41% drop in sales of Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: 2-nensei-hen Volume 6 to 26,504 copies, putting its 10-day sales at a total of 71,739 copies sold, an edge over Volume 4.5’s 67,168 copies. However, this is still slightly less than the 10-day sales of Volume 1, which sold 71,661 copies, at the same time, it is a large improvement over Volume 5’s 14-day sales of 72,136 copies.

It is thanks to the amazing folks over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! In addition, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Light Novel) and here (Bunko).

The week also sees a plethora of new releases beginning with the 21st volume of Seirei Gensouki at 11,158 copies sold in its first 6 days. Copies sold this time around have marked a small upgrade over the 6-day sales produced by Volumes 17 and 18. Note that the two volumes had 9,211 copies and 9,319 copies sold at the time. The series has a Manga adaptation ongoing via Comic Fire by artist Futago Minazuki, and it received a 12-episode TV Anime series by TMS Entertainment. In November of last year, a second season was announced to be aired on an unannounced date. You can check out the announcement down below.

I guess it is too soon to forget about Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! as the series is blessed with another addition to its family, this time by a different author, Hirukuma. The volume, titled “Fantastic Days” sees 8,325 copies sold in its first 6 days. Number 4 places Kenja no Mago, a series you may be familiar with, at 6,854 copies sold for its 16th volume. Unfortunately, things are not looking so great for the title seeing its performance continues to exhibit a downtrend. The 7-day sales produced for its 16th volume is nearly identical to Volume 15’s 4 day sales of 6,441 copies. Nevertheless, it may bounce back the week after. Kenja no Mago too has a Manga adaptation of the same name via Young Ace UP magazine, and it was adapted into a TV Anime series back in 2019. There has so far been no announcement for a Season 2.

Jump over to Number 7 and you will find Minato Shouji Coin Laundry: Utakata no Kiss, a BL title by Yuzu Tsubaki and Sawa Kanzume, both the original authors of the Manga that it is adapted into. Copies sold stands at 3,769 copies sold for the title in its first 7 days. Ao Oni Akazu no Tobira to Nijiiro no Chou is next at Number 9 with copies sold at 3,513 in its first 5 days. The main Light Novel has actually ended back in 2017, and Akazu no Tobira to Nijiiro no Chou is written by a different author, Kenji Kuroda. The main series witnessed a TV Anime adaptation back in 2017 by Studio Deen, and a prequel Manga to the main storyline titled “Ao Oni: Genshi-hen” was introduced in 2014, ending after four volumes. You can check out its first chapter in Japanese right here if you are interested. The series is reportedly to have 1.2 million copies in circulation according to its Light Novel cover.

There are two more new releases on the chart, at Number 11 is Seijo-sama ni Minikui Kamisama to no Kekkon wo Oshitsukeraremashita at 3,174 copies sold in its first 6 days whereas Aku no Kadou wo Ikimashou is 12th at 3,002 copies sold in its first 5 days. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
