Japan Top 10 Weekly Light Novel Ranking: July 5, 2021 ~ July 11, 2021

Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku Volume 23 opens the week’s chart with 18,137 copies sold albeit this being its third drop since the highs of Volume 20 which sold 23,211 copies in its first week. Volume 20 was quite popular back when it was released as it was also charted on Week 2 with 7,182 copies sold bringing its total two-week sales to 30,393 copies. Despite the lower turnout on its first week for Volume 22 compared to Volume 20, Volume 22 did record decent sales on Week 2 to see 6,867 copies sold at the time, as such its two-week cumulative sales hit 26,609 copies. While Volume 23 does sell lower than the two volumes mentioned, we should observe its performance further the following week. The title was also adapted into Anime back in 2018 and a Manga adaptation of the same name is still ongoing. Do check out its Light Novel promotional video down below as well!

Trailing closely behind at Number 2 is the 2nd volume of Shin Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Cygnus no Otome-tachi. The first volume was released back in January with 12,917 copies sold in its first week, and Volume 2 has performed much better debut-to-debut as it sees 15,348 copies sold in its release week. Like Volume 1, do expect the title to be on the chart for the next couple of weeks.

There are two other new releases on the chart including Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” Volume 7 at Number 6 with 5,463 copies sold while Guild no Uketsukejou desu ga, Zangyou wa Iya nanode Boss wo Solo Toubatsu Shiyou to Omoimasu Volume 2 settles for the 10th place at 4,280 copies sold. Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” was adapted into Anime by Sunrise back in 2018 under the name Isekai Izakaya: Koto Aitheria no Izakaya Nobu, and a Manga adaptation of the same name is also ongoing. There is however, an alternative Manga adaptation which was released in 2015 titled ‘Isekai Izakaya “Nobu”: Shinobu to Taishou Koto Gohan‘ which is still publishing. As for older titles, sales are down for for Spy x Family: Kazoku no Shouzou, Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: 2-nensei-hen and Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu. The two-week sales for Spy x Family: Kazoku no Shouzou are now at 30,734 copies sold. The three-week sales for Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: 2-nensei-hen and Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu are at 76,645 copies and 33,158 copies sold respectively. Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime rises by 22.59% to 8,477 copies to see its total four-week sales at 27,585 copies.

Definitely, not to miss is Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru. The Anime adaptation that is ongoing right now is certainly popular in Japan to have revived sales of its past volumes. Volume 1 is ranked at 7th place at 5,284 copies sold whereas Volume 2 is at 9th place with 4,502 copies sold. Note that the debut sales of its 5th volume were the highest among its latest five volumes to see 15,908 copies sold in its first week.
