The turnout for Anime Blu-rays and DVDs is pretty weak between September 5 – September 11, as expected amid the frequent and lack of new releases at the start of the month. Machikado Mazoku: 2-choume opens the second week of September with its 3rd volume sitting atop of the list at 3,119 copies sold in its first 5 days, a 0.57% drop debut-to-debut over Volume 2’s 3,137 copies. Overall, the Blu-ray performance for its latest season has remained flat with Volume 1 still being the best-selling volume. However, Season 2’s performance is visibly weaker when compared to sales of Season 1 which had more than 4,000 copies sold each after Volume 1. Season 2 is expecting its 4th and final volume to hit stores nationwide on October 5 with a small improvement in sales is predicted, though it may not sell as much as Season 1’s Volume 4.

There are two other new releases that can be found on the Top 10 Anime Blu-ray chart with Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi Volume 3 settling for the 3rd place whereas One Piece 20th Season Wano Kuni piece. 33 makes its presence at Number 8. Both releases failed to chart on the Top 20 general category and have sold less than 500 copies. Note that One Piece 20th Season Wano Kuni piece. 33’s DVD edition successfully breached the Top 20 DVD general category chart at 561 copies sold in its first 5 days, a much stronger outcome than its Blu-ray edition.
Some of the new releases that did not make it onto any of the charts for the week are Estab-Life: Great Escape Blu-ray Box and Gunjou no Fanfare Volume 3. Overall sales performances of Anime Blu-rays and DVDs are expected to still be on the low side the week after due to few and notable new releases.
