Bandai Namco surely looks very formidable the week between September 26 and October 2 as it dominates the Anime Blu-ray’s Top 10 sales chart with its releases. The combo Macross Δ Movie: Zettai Live!!! and Gekijou Tanpen Macross Frontier: Toki no Meikyuu volume tops the chart at a great 33,664 copies in its first 5 days while its DVD edition is placed 1st on its respective chart at 6,017 copies. Together, that would be 39,681 copies with a total gross sales of 343,175,800 yen (≈2.38 million USD). Then, at Number 2 is Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai 2nd Season’s 4th volume at 13,802 copies sold in its first 5 days, a drop of 17.22% from the 16,674 copies sold it made for Volume 2 back in July this year. Note that the series previously made its appearances with Volumes 1 and 3, though they were charted at shorter days of sales. The 3-day sales of the volumes were sold at 16,731 copies and 13,488 copies respectively.
The direct sequel to the 2021 TV Anime series, Love Live! Superstar!! 2nd Season finally made its 1st volume debut here at 12,761 copies sold in its first 5 days which is a 12.08% drop from the first season’s 1st volume debut of 14,514 copies sold in its first 6 days. Since the previous season’s 1st volume was charted at a day longer, its latest performance seems to be relatively unchanged.

Number 4 sees Ensemble Stars!!: Road to Show!! at 6,973 copies sold in its first 5 days on the Blu-ray chart, and like its Blu-ray, its DVD edition too is placed 4th on its own list at 2,304 copies, putting its total copies sold at 9,277 copies with a total gross sales of 91,618,000 yen (≈634.50 thousand USD). You can also watch its Blu-ray and DVD advertisement down below if you missed out on it.
Akebi-chan no Sailor-fuku made its final Blu-ray appearance with its 6th volume settling for the 8th spot at 3,081 copies sold in its first 5 days, its weakest performance so far. The latest turnout is 12.74% less than Volume 1’s 3,531 copies sold, which still possesses its best debut sales to date. All in all, the total copies sold for its entire catalogue is at a comfortable 19,753 copies (not including its DVDs) and should have easily surpassed the 20,000 mark by now.
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These Volume 9 is 9th on the list at 2,536 copies sold in its first 5 days, a 0.67% fall from Volume 8’s 2,553 copies back in August. Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Ultra Romantic Volume 4 finds its way to the Number 10 spot, though amid intense competition from non-Anime Blu-rays and DVDs, it failed to sell enough to place in the Top 20 general category. Note that the cutoff point on the Top 20 general category for Blu-ray this time is Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These.
As for DVDs, other titles not mentioned above would be One Piece Log Collection’s latest entry titled “UDON” at Number 3 at 3,225 copies sold while Heroine Tarumono! Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no Oshigoto Blu-ray Volume 3 is 7th at 547 copies sold. A slew of other new releases also made it onto the list, however, copies sold were too low for them to chart on the general category’s Top 20 which cutoff point for the week was at 534 copies.
