Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Blu-ray) and here (DVD). To access the sales data, be sure to click on the “Analytics” accordion and then click “Chart”. This should bring you to the Google chart page that contains the latest available sales data.
Please note that Oricon’s daily surveys do not cover all stores in Japan, and some data may be missing from the list provided below. To view the list of stores that participate in Oricon’s surveys, please refer to the link provided (or the post here). If you would like to learn more about Oricon and their tracking methods, you may find additional information here. While I have manually counted the number of stores included in the list below, please be aware that there may be some errors, and not all stores are listed on official websites as many are exclusive sets listed to certain retailers. Therefore, it’s important to keep in mind that the number of stores counted may not fully reflect all retailers that sell the product.
Please note that the cutoff point on the Blu-ray general chart for the week was 654 copies whereas on the DVD chart, that would be 272 copies. Therefore, any releases denoted with “N/A” below have sold less than the amount stated.
As mentioned in the post that covers the previous week’s results, the poor performance of general Anime discs sales below is just as expected and will continue to do so the following week as well. A strong rebound is very likely to happen the week between September 18 and September 24.
