Please note that the cutoff point for the Blu-ray general chart for the week is 1,486 copies sold, and for the DVD chart, it’s 141 copies. Releases marked as “N/A” have sold fewer copies than the specified cutoff amount. In the following week, we can expect more strong sales as popular releases like Bocchi the Rock! Volume 4 and Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! hit the charts.

However, in December 2019, the previous movie in the series, Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Movie: Maji Love Kingdom, performed much better, selling 125,947 copies in its first 5 days and grossing 1,003,503,500 yen (≈7.58 million USD).
Compared to the previous movie, the latest movie has seen a significant decrease in both sales and revenue. The latest movie sold 59,867 copies in its first 5 days, which is a 52% decrease compared to the previous movie’s 125,947 copies sold in the same time period. Additionally, the latest movie grossed 511,165,000 yen (≈3.86 million USD), which is only about half of the previous movie’s gross revenue of 1,003,503,500 yen (≈7.58 million USD).
Overall, while the Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Movie: Maji Love ST☆RISH Tours has performed well, it has not been able to match the success of its predecessor, Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Movie: Maji Love Kingdom.

When compared to the sales of the previous volumes, Spy x Family Volume 5‘s performance has been the weakest by far. Volume 5’s sales of 7,609 copies in its first 5 days represent a 5-6% drop in sales compared to the first 4 volumes.
Despite the drop in sales, the series has still sold a total of 39,562 copies as of Volume 5, grossing at 549,616,000 yen (≈4.15 million USD) in revenue in its debut week. This indicates that the series still has a strong fan base, even though its latest volume has not performed as well as its predecessors.

Seiya Kessen-hen did not make a strong debut, selling below 2,000 copies in its first 5 days. Compared to Season 1’s first volume, which sold 2,942 copies, the sales of Seiya Kessen-hen‘s first volume are lower. However, the sales of Season 1’s volumes gradually improved over time, with Volume 6 selling 6,875 copies in its first 4 days. It is worth noting that Season 1 had more volumes released, including two Blu-ray box sets, while Seiya Kessen-hen will only have three volumes, with the first one containing 5 episodes and the remaining two having 4 episodes each. Considering the more humble start of Seiya Kessen-hen and the difference in volume releases, it remains to be seen whether the new season will produce the same level of performance as the first season. Additionally, taking into consideration the price of the volumes, which are the same, Seiya Kessen-hen is off to a poor start.
