The sequel to the 2016 animated film, Sing 2 tops the weekly Oricon Anime Blu-ray chart at 22,929 copies sold in its first 5 days while the 2nd volume release of Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai 2nd Season follows tightly at Number 2, marking a small 0.34% drop from Volume 1’s 16,731 copies sold between June 20 and June 26 in its first 6 days. The 2nd volume is being priced higher at 7,000 yen (≈52 USD) as compared to Volume 1’s 4,500 yen (≈33 USD). However, do note that the 1st volume of the series contains only one episode whereas the 2nd volume has two.
Next at Number 3 is the final and 6th volume of Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen at 14,276 copies sold in its first 5 days whereas its DVD version can be found topping its own respective list at 6,517 copies. Together, that is a very healthy 20,793 copies sold. The title started off at an incredible pace when the 1st volume debuted at a total of 30,167 copies sold in total for both of its Blu-ray and DVD copies. It unfortunately could not repeat the strong result posted by the 1st volume recording a continuous, initially big, but then small decline volume-to-volume. As such, its final volume performance is 17.55%, 26.44%, 28.72% and 29.76% stronger than sales of Volumes 2 to 5, however, it is a 31.07% decline from Volume 1’s 30,167 copies sold. Please also note that Volume 1 is priced cheaper than Volume 6 at 4,000 yen (≈30 USD) a piece as it only contains the first episode while Volume 6 is 3,500 yen (≈26 USD) higher and contains the final two episodes.
Then, at Number 4 is the 5th volume of Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru at 8,122 copies sold for its Blu-ray edition, and at the same time, its DVD version is placed 4th on its own list at 950 copies sold, both in their first 5 days. This is not its best performance after the strong start posted by Volume 1 which sold 10,130 copies sold in March this year, nevertheless, the latest volume marks a minor 0.81% improvement over Volume 4’s 8,999 copies. With the rest, Volume 5 sold 2.82% and 0.98% lower than Volumes 2 and 3. The next volume coming out on August 31 will be its last.
Strike the Blood Final Volume 2 is 5th on the list at 6,887 copies sold in its first 3 days, stronger than the 6,439 copies sold for Volume 1 in its first 5 days between March 28 and April 3 this year. The latest volume has also performed well when compared to the 3-day sales of Strike the Blood IV‘s Volumes 3 and 5 by 3.07% and 13.38% respectively. As for the rest in the graph you see below, they are all at 5 days of sales.
Head over to Number 6 and Ai no Utagoe wo Kikasete makes its debut at 3,829 copies sold for its Blu-ray Limited Edition copies in its first 5 days. Although its DVD edition has found a spot at Number 8 on its own list, copies sold were too few to see it place for the Top 20 general category. The film was released back in October 2021, produced by J.C.Staff. If you are interested to see what the film is about, you can watch its trailer down below.
It is thanks to the wonderful people over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Blu-ray) and here (DVD).
Akebi-chan no Sailor-fuku makes its 4th volume debut at Number 7 for the week with copies sold seeing a retreat of 0.15% from Volume 3’s 3,316 copies to 3,311 copies. That said, its sales performance for its Blu-ray copies have been very consistent at above 3,000 copies sold since the release of Volume 1. The series could not find any luck with its DVD version as copies sold were too few to place it in the general category. It sits at the 17th spot in its own chart. Note that all of the sales you see in the graph are in their first 5 days.
At Number 8 is Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These Volume 7 which houses the episodes for the 2022 sequel series which aired between March and May this year. Copies sold are at 2,489 in its first 5 days. Number 9 and 10 are occupied by Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou 2nd Season Blu-ray BOX and Heroine Tarumono! Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no Oshigoto Volume 1, though the latter sees only a slightly better outcome than the sales of its DVDs, yet still not enough to place it on the Top 20 general category. Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Ultra Romantic Volume 2 is left out of the Blu-ray chart due to intense competition with both non-Anime and Anime titles. Not to forget, One Piece Log Collection “Kin’emon” is at 3,318 copies sold on the DVD chart in its first 3 days.
In terms of copies sold for Japanese Anime releases, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen Volume 6 is ahead of the pack at 20,793 copies whereas Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai 2nd Season Volume 2 comes in 2nd while Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Volume 5 is 3rd. The positions remain the same when we compare revenue made for the week for the Top 3 titles with Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen Volume 6 still leading by quite a good margin over the others. The volume have noted 149,430,500 yen (≈1.12 million USD) in revenue made in its first 5 days, Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai 2nd Season Volume 2 is at 116,718,000 yen (≈871.88 thousand USD) and Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Volume 5 is at 62,554,000 yen (≈467.23 thousand USD).

Home Entertainment at 51,523,600 yen (≈384.70 thousand USD).
If we compared some of the releases in their own respective Top 20 general category, Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai 2nd Season Volume 2 accounts for 10.9% of the share for Blu-ray whereas Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen Volume 6 and Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Volume 5 are at 9.3% and 5.3% each.
