Anime Blu-ray and DVD sales performance continue to be on the weak side amid the lack of new and notable releases, though the week between August 15 and August 21 has seen a slight improvement from the week before, thanks to the releases of Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season Volume 4 and Cue! Volume 6.
Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season Volume 4 takes the 2nd spot at 1,971 copies sold in its first 5 days, up by 8.42% against Volume 3’s 1,818 copies back in July. However, the Part 2 of the Final Season saw less turnout than Part 1 which performed better with Volumes 1 and 2 at 2,652 copies and 2,518 copies sold each in July and August last year. Its DVD edition can be found on its own chart at Number 11, but the number of copies sold are too few for it to find a spot on the Top 20 general category. Nevertheless, together, they are above the 2,000 copies sold mark.
It is thanks to the wonderful people over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Blu-ray) and here (DVD).
As for Cue! Volume 6, it is just right behind Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season Volume 4 at 1,373 copies sold, its best performance since Volume 3, but is still 3.31% fewer than Volume 1. Volume 2 failed to place a spot on the Top 20’s general category. The volume is its final one and contains the last four episodes.
Sales of Anime Blu-rays and DVDs will come back stronger the week after as the week between August 22 and August 28 will be seeing the releases of some noteworthy titles such as Date A Live IV, Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Season 2, Aria the Benedizione, Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These and many more.
