The weak turnout for Anime Blu-rays and DVDs persist heading into the second week of May but is certainly a slight improvement over the week before thanks to the releases of Ginga Tetsudou 999 remaster editions taking the first three spots on the Blu-ray list. The 1979 film leads the chart at 2,486 copies sold and 1,892 copies sold respectively, followed by the 1981 sequel film, Sayonara Ginga Tetsudou 999: Andromeda Shuuchakueki at Number 3 with 1,558 copies sold, all in their first 5 days. While the number of copies sold is rather small, the high price, particularly for the first film’s Limited Release copies, has allowed the series to accumulate 110,912,500 yen (≈862.62 thousand USD) in sales.
