Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen once again tops the Anime Blu-ray and DVD charts, this time with its 4th volume selling a total of 16,154 copies in the span of 5 days, its weakest thus far among the four volumes. Copies sold slides by a small 1.77% from the 16,445 copies sold for Volume 3. The series was initially off to a good start after hitting a record sale of 30,167 copies for its 1st volume, later on copies sold continue to weaken for the next three consecutive volumes. Nevertheless, the sales of its Limited Releases you see here may be far from being conclusive as Oricon tends to separate the volumes with its other editions. For instance, the ufotable sets or the Complete Set are most likely not included, and even if they are counted in Oricon’s day-to-day surveys, they may be too small to be captured on the Top 20 charts. Thus, the actual copies sold you see may be a lot stronger. Note that this applies to other titles with a similar situation.
Number 2 is… quite an interesting one. IDOLiSH7 makes an appearance with its volume titled “RabbiTube” which is actually a collection of the Youtube videos: “RabbiTube” Challenge the Creators that have been converted into the Blu-ray format. You can head over to Youtube and key in the term RabbiTube and you should see the videos pop out, or you can click on this link here which will direct you to the search results. Copies sold in its first 3 days are high, and at 12,500 yen (≈96.60 USD) a piece, it sold 8,230 copies.
And then at Number 3 we have Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Volume 3 at 8,200 copies sold for its Blu-ray edition while its DVD ranks in 4th on its own chart at 962 copies sold to see a total of 9,162 copies, indicating a small drop of 1.85% debut-to-debut. Note both are in their first 5 days. Its discs will see a total of six volumes released with the next one slated to arrive this coming June the 29th.
It is thanks to the wonderful people over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Blu-ray) and here (DVD).
Head over to Number 4 and you will find Sumikko Gurashi Movie: Aoi Tsukiyo no Mahou no Ko with its Blu-ray Limited Edition copies at 4,531 copies sold in its first 4 days, however its Regular Edition at Number 10 failed to chart on the Top 20. It does well for its DVDs with both Limited and Regular editions next to each other, occupying the 2nd and 3rd spots at a total of 5,521 copies, and altogether, the film makes for a strong 10,052 copies sold (the number should have been more if its Blu-ray Regular Edition were to be included). The movie by studio Fanworks was released in November 2021 in Japan and serves as a prequel to the Tobidasu Ehon to Himitsu no Ko film that came out in 2019. You can check out its latest promotional video down below which features the song “Small World”, performed by Bump of Chicken.
Shuumatsu no Harem Volume 3 is 5th on the list at 3,367 copies sold in its first 3 days. However, it is quite hard to grasp as to its actual performance since its days of sales are very inconsistent, and copies sold seem to be highly irregular as well. For instance, its 1st volume debuted back in March at 2,631 copies sold, and then it witnessed a total of 3,406 copies sold in its first 5 days for Volume 2 which is quite low when compared to Volume 3’s performance. Note that it will be receiving its final volume this coming June the 29th.
As for others, Akebi-chan no Sailor-fuku Volume 2 is 6th on the list at 3,270 copies sold in its first 5 days, a small drop of 7.39% from Volume 1’s 3,531 copies sold back in April. Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Gaiden (TV) Final Season – Asaki Yume no Akatsuki makes its volume debut at 2,193 copies sold in its first 5 days as it is placed 7th on the list. Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou 2nd Season Blu-ray BOX Volume 2 is 8th at 1,953 copies sold in its first 5 days, a direct 9.93% improvement over Volume 1’s 1,759 copies sold in March this year.
Now, in terms of copies sold, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen Volume 4 is the best-seller for the week at 16,154 copies, followed by Sumikko Gurashi Movie: Aoi Tsukiyo no Mahou no Ko (excluding the Blu-ray Regular Edition) at 10,052 copies and Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Volume 3 is 3rd at 9,162 copies. But, in terms of estimated sales, a different picture is painted. Instead of Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen Volume 4 at the top, we have IDOLiSH7: RabbiTube outpacing it at 102,875,000 yen (≈794.53 thousand USD) thanks to its heftier price. Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen Volume 4 came quite close at 2nd at 99,545,000 yen (≈768.69 thousand USD) in estimated sales while Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Volume 3 settles for 3rd place at 63,172,000 yen (≈487.84 thousand USD).
This time, I thought of doing something a little more interesting by looking at the labels or distributors. Please be aware that since I am only able to share the limited data here, none of the breakdown you see below is conclusive, and that I have only taken into consideration those that make it onto the Top 20 charts. That said, it can provide an interesting outlook particularly for weeks where we get many new and popular releases.

For the breakdown, Aniplex is most likely the biggest earner among labels of Anime releases that made onto the Top 20 charts for the week, accumulating 227,861,400 yen (≈1.76 million USD) worth of sales for its releases that made onto the chart.
BANDAI NAMCO, thanks to the strong performance of IDOLiSH7: RabbiTube is 2nd at 102,875,000 yen (≈794.53 thousand USD). Third is DMM.com at 59,959,600 yen (≈461.90 thousand USD) for the Sumikko Gurashi Movie: Aoi Tsukiyo no Mahou no Ko releases that made onto the charts (again, not counting the Blu-ray Regular Edition).
As for number of appearances, Aniplex has the most at seven releases while DMM.com has three while the rest has one each. As such, Aniplex takes up the largest share among the Anime titles that made it onto the Top 20, accounting to nearly 49% of the total sales while both Bandai Namco and DMM.com are 22% and 13.9% each. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
