Japan Top 10 Weekly Anime Blu-ray and DVD Ranking: March 14, 2022 ~ March 20, 2022

Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor – The Beyond Part 4 ranks 1^st on both Blu-ray and DVD charts for the week between March 14 and March 20 with copies sold in total at 9,072 copies, a small fall from Part 3 by 1.23%. Nonetheless, this is still its second-best debut among its volumes (note that all in their 5 days of sales). The 4^th part was initially released back on November 5, 2021 and contains episodes 10 to 12 of the series. You can check out the promotional video for the 4^th part right down below.

Right behind is Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Chapter 4, the season’s final volume with its best debut sales to date at 5,101 copies sold. The first part of the cour was broadcasted between January 11 and March 22, 2021, spanning 11 episodes, and the second cour aired six months later with an additional 12 episodes, plus an OVA that is included in Chapter 4’s volume. On March 6, during the pre-screening even for the OVA, it was announced that the series is set to receive a sequel, so far on an unannounced date.

Then, at Number 3 is Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Tsuioku-hen at a total of 5,101 copies sold in its first 5 days. The Special serves as a prequel to the main storyline and first premiered on December 31, 2021. The series is also expecting a sequel TV Anime series titled “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (Zoku-hen)” on an unannounced date. The third season of Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san makes its debut with 2,013 copies sold as it places 4^th on the list. Note that the Blu-ray package is priced at 19,800 yen each (≈163 USD). The title will be receiving a film slated for release June 10^th this year. Voice acting Anime, Cue! is right after at 1,420 copies sold for its 1st volume, also in its first 5 days. Two more new releases can be found with Seitokai Yakuindomo Movie 2 and Ousama Ranking, both at Number 6 and 8. Unfortunately, copies sold for the two are too few to breach the Top 20 chart.

Thanks to great copies sold for Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor – The Beyond Part 4, the title sees strong revenue for the week at 79,833,600 yen (≈659,669 USD) while Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Blu-ray Chapter 4 is 2^nd at 76,515,000 yen (≈632,247 USD). The pricier Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 3 Volume 1 puts it slightly ahead of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Tsuioku-hen [Limited Release] in terms of revenue at 39,857,400 yen (≈329,343 USD).
