A breath of fresh air for Blu-ray and DVD sales chart after several weeks of lackluster performance amid the lack of notable releases. The week between January 17 and January 23 sees a number of popular releases with Fate/Grand Order: Shuukyoku Tokuiten – Kani Jikan Shinden Solomon taking the top spots on both Blu-ray and DVD sales chart at a total of 14,475 copies sold. The title, which is a film, is set after the events of Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia, and was theatrically released on July 30, 2021. But what is more impressive would be Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Blu-ray sales performance, which is at its best so far! It is placed 2nd for the week at 4,843 copies sold. Note that the title made its Blu-ray debut with the release of the 1st chapter on April 21, 2021, of which its 5-day sales noted 4,385 copies sold. Chapter 2 went on sale on June 23, 2021, down 7.57% from Chapter 1, at 4,053 copies sold. Chapter 4 is slated to release this coming March, 2022, and if all goes well, it may see better copies sold for its fourth and final volume.

A number of other new releases include Number 3’s Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Dai Mankai no Shou [Part 2] at quite good sales of 4,211 copies sold. Note that this marks a 14.65% improvement over Part 1, which was released back in December 2021 at 3,594 copies. Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Dai Mankai no Shou is a direct sequel to the 2018 Anime series, Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Yuusha no Shou. The title started its broadcast on October 2 and ended on December 18, 2021. According to its website, this should be its final volume.
Then, at Number 4 is Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon S Volume 5’s Deluxe Edition at 2,671 copies. The Limited Edition is also on the list at Number 8, however, it failed to place a spot on Oricon’s Top 20 Blu-ray chart. Nevertheless, copies sold are above 3,000. The title failed to see its 4th volume for both Deluxe and Regular editions between December 13 to December 19, 2021, but its sales performance has maintained to be around 3,000 copies sold or above per volume, which is a good turnout.
Head over to Number 6, and you will find the 4th volume of Boku no Hero Academia 5th Season. Sales have been rough for its Blu-rays and DVDs, though Volume 4 may perhaps be its best performer thus far. It sees both Blu-ray and DVD volumes placed on the charts with copies sold at 1,786 copies. Unfortunately, this amount is still below par.
As for estimated revenue, note that those that did not make it onto Oricon’s Top 20 Blu-ray and DVD charts have not been included, Fate/Grand Order: Shuukyoku Tokuiten – Kani Jikan Shinden Solomon leads at 154,028,000 yen (≈1.35 million USD) while the pricier Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Dai Mankai no Shou [Part 2] pushes it ahead of Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Blu-ray Chapter 3 at 87,546,690 yen (≈767.25 thousand USD). The latter title is 3rd at 72,645,000 yen (≈636.67 thousand USD). Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
