Although the week does not pack much of a punch, we at least get to know why the sudden return of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (TV) Season 2 Blu-rays copies onto the charts. It would have seemed that leading up to the release of the Anime adaptation of the 4-koma Manga that features characters from Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, sales for its other related titles’ volumes have been gradually on the rise. Within just 5 days, the Blu-ray Box of Umayon sold a whopping 81,000 copies! And for the week alone, the total Blu-ray copies sold for Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (TV) Season 2 are at 20,027, slightly down from the prior week’s 22,733 copies. Nevertheless, that should put its past 14-day sales at 42,760 copies.
Thanks to the strong performance of Umayon, it leads estimated revenue for the week at 720.90 million yen (≈ 6.32 million USD) while its related title, Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (TV) Season 2 comes in 2nd at 178.24 million yen (≈ 1.56 million USD). Love Live! Superstar!! Volume 3 which saw a decent turnout of 1,557 copies managed to raise 10.90 million yen (≈ 95.48 thousand USD) worth of sales.
