The list is certainly a lot better for the week between April 18 and April 24 thanks to the entrance of new and notable releases. The chart for the week is led by Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime with its Standard Edition Blu-ray at 9,737 copies sold in the first 5 days while the Special Edition follows tightly at Number 2 at 9,130 copies. Head over to the Anime DVD’s Top 20 chart, you will find the DVD edition leading the pack at 8,171 copies sold, bringing its total for all editions combined at 27,038 copies. At Number 3 is Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 2 Volume 2 at 9,047 copies sold in the first 6 days, down by 2.54% from the 9,283 copies sold for Volume 1. Note that it will receive its final Blu-ray volume this coming May the 17th. So far, Season 2’s performance is weaker than that of Season 1. More comparisons will be made when the final volume is charted next month.
Right below, you will find Free! Movie: The Final Stroke – Zenpen at 8,716 copies sold in the first 5 days, an improvement over Free! Movie: Road to the World – Yume back in April 2020 by 24.87% for the Blu-ray, as for the DVDs, copies sold are down from Yume’s 2,590 copies by 23.28% to 1,987 copies. In total, the film sold 10,703 copies, outpacing Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 2 Volume 2.
Then we have Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 3 at Number 5 with an upgrade in its copies sold by 11.71% to 2,280 over Volume 1 back in March 2022. The series is expecting its final volume out this coming May the 23rd. The commercial video of its Blu-ray release can be accessed down below for those of you who are interested.

As for others on the list, they did not make it onto the Top 20 charts for the week, note that the cut-off point on the top Blu-ray chart is 1,979 copies whereas on the DVD chart, it is 497 copies. As such, the rest have sold below 1,400 copies for Blu-rays, and for DVDs that would be below 400 copies. At Number 6 is a classic series, Sentou Mecha Xabungle with the first part of its Blu-ray Box in the first 5 days, Cue! is 7th on the list with its Volume 2, also in its first 5 days, finally on the Blu-ray chart, the 2016 TV Anime adaptation, Amanchu! receive the Blu-ray Box treatment, claiming the 8th spot at 5 days of sales.
Now, in terms of revenue, seeing that it leads the chart with the highest number of copies sold, Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime is at the forefront at 127,081,600 yen (≈987.39 thousand USD) while Free! Movie: The Final Stroke – Zenpen is 2nd, thanks to the 10,703 copies sold it has at 107,030,000 yen (≈831.59 thousand USD). Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 2 Volume 2 is 3rd with estimated revenue at 99,517,000 yen (≈773.27 thousand USD).
