Japan Top 10 Weekly Anime Blu-ray and DVD Ranking: April 11, 2022 ~ April 17, 2022

The list for the week between April 11 and April 17 does not come as much of a surprise with Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki taking the top spot, pretty much unchallenged amid a severe lack of new releases. The second season debuts its Blu-ray box set at 1,070 copies sold, not that good considering the box consists of all the episodes, and the 23,000 yen (≈180 USD) a piece would put its estimated revenue for the week only at 24,610,000 yen (≈191.40 thousand USD). The good news is the performance of Volume 2 is 19.07% stronger than Volume 1 which sold 866 copies in the first 5 days back in October 2021, a rather welcoming outcome nevertheless. As for the rest on the list, note that the cutoff point for Blu-ray Top 20 is 927 copies whereas DVD would be 438 copies. Therefore, the rest on the list has sold below the amounts stated. While the list for the week is certainly lacklustre, expect recovery for the week after as a number of popular releases will be making their debuts. Some of the titles coming out between April 18 and April 24 are: Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 2 Volume 2, Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime, Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 3 Volume 2 etc. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:

      1. Sí. En este tipo de anime no importa tanto la animación como la trama. Aunque hubo momentos de animación de presupuesto bajo como cuando souma se peleó con un tipo.

      2. I actually quite enjoy it as well despite the Animation not being as good as I’d hope. Praying that it’ll get a sequel.
