How do I put this, it is certainly out of the norm to see a COMIC ZIN’s list that is filled almost completely by the same title. I went back to all the charts for COMIC ZIN in 2020 and 2021 that I covered, and not even Kimetsu no Yaiba nor Jujutsu Kaisen had this level of impact. Spy x Family sees all its volumes on the Top 10 with the exception of Volume 4 while Takopii no Genzai Volume 2 are up four spots to Number 2. Golden Kamuy Volume 29 slides six places to Number 7. There are no new releases this time around.
So, the dominance exhibited here by Spy x Family could be due to one reason, and that there are not that many notable, new releases for the week since TSUTAYA’s list is almost just as dry. As far as my observation goes, Kimetsu no Yaiba and Jujutsu Kaisen had a more pronounced impact in terms of sales on the Oricon sales charts back when demand was strong for their volumes (after the Anime adaptations were released). As such, it remains to be seen if Spy x Family can carry such a momentum of which we can only know when Oricon’s chart for the week is released. As for myself, I do suspect some boost in sales for Spy x Family for the week, however I am hesitant to say if it will meet the level shown by Kimetsu no Yaiba and Jujutsu Kaisen. Yet, such a performance is still quite plausible.
It is thanks to the amazing people over at Natalie.mu that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Natalie.mu right here.
